About Mooney's Bay Ottawa

Mooney’s Bay Beach is located on the east shore of the Rideau River, just south of Carleton University. The beach is famous for swimming, rowing, and volleyball in summer. In addition, it has parking lots and accessible washrooms but no food services. Mooney’s Bay is one of Ottawa’s four supervised beaches. The city’s Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services Department set up a swimming area supervised by trained lifeguards daily from 12 pm to 7 pm from the third week in June until the third week in August. In addition, from mid-May until early September, volleyball nets can be rented per hour or day, and stand-up paddleboards (SUPs) can be rented by the hour.

Mooney’s Bay is a popular destination for Ottawa residents and visitors alike. It is in the city’s heart, and the beach offers various water activities like boating, swimming, and canoeing. Surrounding this area are many amenities, such as playgrounds, picnic areas, monuments, and a fountain that locals and tourists enjoy.
